Athletes should meet at Kentwood in the Sr. Parking Lot at 10:00 a.m. to arrange car pools to the Soos Creek Park on 208th. (car pools will not be arranged by the booster club for this event so plan accordingly.)The boys will run south from the park on the Soos Creek Trail. The booster club and parent volunteers will be stationed at the 148th intersection with water, at the 240th intersection, and along 256th.
The race will end back at Kentwood High School.
Due to the road construction on 256th, the booster club will be contacting the City of Covington and/or the Covington Police Department to make sure our boys will stay safe on their run.
The last runner should be back by 1:00 pm. Please pick up your son at KW around that time unless you hear from them sooner.
The boys should be back at Kentwood at 8:00pm for the Lock-in.
The booster club provides a pizza snack and water for the boys. This is a snack so we suggest the boys eat dinner prior to arriving at the gym.
If the boys wish to bring other snacks, that's fine. (To bring soda pop is not advisable.)
The Lock-In is a team building activity where the coaches and team members talk and play together. There are games and skits. Rarely do the boys sleep. On Sunday morning, parent volunteers will provide donuts and milk or juice.
The boys should be ready for pick up at 7:00 am. We would suggest that you drop your son off and pick him up even if he has his license. He will be too tired to drive on Sunday morning and we want them to be safe. Once home, he will likely spend the day sleeping.
Please meet at Kentwood at 10:00 am. The boys will gather into car pools for the ride over to Issaquah High School where they will begin the climb. Car pools are not arranged by the booster club for this event. Please make your car pool arrangements ahead of time. Let us know if your son cannot find a ride.
Please have your son pack a sack lunch and water.
Once they reach the top, the coaches and team will eat and talk before heading back down the mountain.
If it is a hot day, a hat or sun screen is probably a good idea.
We will have booster club and parent volunteers handing out water at the finish of the climb.
